Wednesday 22nd June – bike ***** – Two rivers including Landguard for lunch – sunny and warm:).

Perfect summers day, wall to wall sunshine with the sky the deepest blue, definitely my favourite colour:) Usual morning at home in the garden, exercises and snapping the flowers and wild life including an interesting caterpillar. Mag went to Lidl and actually relaxed in her beautiful cottage garden, in the shade of course! With light winds it was ideal for a bike ride so I made a very delicious chicken sandwich and we set off at ten past one taking the same route through Langer Park me to the view point, Mag to the jetty at the end. Loads of river action with survey and fishing boats with yachts out enjoying the sunshine, I spotted the yellow foot ferry approaching and instead of landing near the cafe landed by the small wooden pier which meant a bit of a walk for the new passengers and I wondered why so carried on and soon found why. The large MSC container was slowly leaving port past the massive green Ever Ace, I quickly biked over to get some pics of the ferry and container ship and bumped straight into Valerie Rozier and Peter Bash, both members of iwitters a Facebook group of photographers that regularly send pics to the local papers etc. We had a really nice chat which made me a little late for lunch with Mag, she thought I must have found someone to talk too or fallen off my bike! I soon catch up with Mag for a top peaceful lunch, even had a spitfire fly over. before setting off through Landguard Nature reserve spotting a Ringed Plover and loads of Linnets. Onto the prom with loads of people on the beach enjoying the lovely summer weather. Mag turns up Bent Hill while I carry onto the Ferry bumping into some old friends the Hurrells and stop for another chat! At the boatyard I stopped for awhile taking pics of the boats and gulls before taking the short route home. Great bike ride, out for 3 hrs 30 mins covering nearly 12 miles, brilliant:)
